This enables us to expand our range with licensed varieties with improved flavour and yields and that are suitable for changing climatic conditions. The primary principle is that the new varieties are actually an improvement on existing ones. We are also a member of the Blueberry Breeding Consortium. The members combine their knowledge and expertise to create new varieties specifically suited for (changing) European conditions. Other important traits in the development of new varieties are the firmness of the berries, storage and shelf life, colour, yields, flavour and winter hardiness.
